Until October 2012 our brewhouse had, at various times, served as a garage, a storage area and a village shop. In order to become home to the Hurstpierpoint Brewing Company, our first job was to completely refurbish the building and then kit it out with the apparatus necessary for the running of a four-barrel brewing operation.

Built to the highest specifications, the brewing area consists of a hot liquor tank, a mash tun, and a copper, on the production side. The maturation side contains two fermentation vessels which were especially constructed to take advantage of the generous roofspace. Opposite the brewhouse is our cold-storage area. The filled casks are held here for a time, to allow their contents to mature, before being sold on.

Hurst Brewery is situated just behind The White Horse Inn (our brewery tap), where you are always guaranteed to find a selection of the finest Hurst Brewery ales.

We are always happy to book time to show people around our brewery and share with them our passion for brewing fine, cask-conditioned ales. Equally, we operate an open-door policy when we are working and so all are welcome to drop in on a brew day to see how your favourite ales are made.

Details of brew days, Brewery Open Evenings, and 'Meet the Brewer' sessions at venues across Sussex, can be found on our Facebook and Twitter pages, which can be accessed via the links from this website.
